Who are we?
Well, “we” is one guy and his extremely supportive family. I’m Jared Krukar, an attorney and college professor in Tampa Bay who has a penchant for turning hobbies into obsessions and working with his hands to unwind from having his nose in the books all day.
How did this laser crafting idea come about? I was the incoming president of a voluntary bar association during the pandemic and wanted some swag to boost our visibility. But you never know what you’re going to get when you order online. Getting exactly what you want the first time on a limited budget is paramount for a voluntary bar. So to save money for our group, I decided to learn to make some things. And I discovered how to do it with LASERS. So cool! It was a slippery slope from there.
But opening shop? Why!
Three years later, I’ve made all sorts of things, and I love creating new ones. And I love helping out my community, including small voluntary bars, solo practitioners, and students here and there. As I learned, it isn’t always easy to find the right product for your unique organization, or to discover someone you can trust online. Getting a quality name badge can be a pain if you only need a few.
As I kept making name badges, table signs, charcuterie boards, board gifts, gift baskets, and even bike bells in small-batch orders, more people asked me to make something custom for them. Of course I said yes, I love doing this stuff! Then they told me I should start a business, and here we are.
What’s up with “Pro Hac”?
“Pro Hac” is a latin term that means “for this.” If you’re an attorney you’ve heard this most frequently in the phrase “pro hac vice,” which means a court is letting you appear “for this time,” even if it is not in a jurisdiction you’re licensed in.
But enough legal jargon. What’s up with “pro hac” for this business? Well, what we’re excited for is to be there “for this,” whatever your “this” is! We want to work with you to develop whatever fun product you’re looking for, no matter how out-of-the-box. Even if your project is a completely custom one-off, we’re here for it. We’re here “pro hac.”
What are you looking for?
Have an event coming up and need something new? Got it. Want to engrave your child’s artwork on something for grandparents? That’s a constant winner in our family. Board gifts at the end of the bar year? Check. Reusable centerpieces? No problem. A magical snake/orb/staff thing from your daughter’s favorite cartoon so she can paint it and bring it to school? Why not. Something nobody has ever imagined before? No promises, but we’d love to try!
Let us know what idea you have, crazy or otherwise!
